Advair Basics

Advair contains two medications, a steroid and a bronchodilator long acting and is taken twice a day, every day, to help prevent asthma attacks and improve lung function.

That Advair is used for

Advair Diskus is used as maintenance treatment for children and adults with asthma. It is also used for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) associated with chronic bronchitis. If your child is often to have asthma symptoms, asthma attacks and / or is frequently using his asthma control or rescue medicines like Albuterol or Xopenex, and then in May he need a medicine like Advair.

Advair facts

Advair should not be used for relief of acute bronchospasm, which means that you should not be used as a rescue medication when your child is having an asthma attack or breathlessness. A short beta2-agonists such as Albuterol should be used instead when your child is having an asthma attack.

Advair contains:

Advair should be used when an inhaled corticosteroid alone, as Flovent, Pulmicort, Asmanex or do not control your child’s asthma or if it is sufficiently light to be controlled with just the very occasional Albuterol or Xopenex

As the “50″ refers to the strength of salmeterol and remains the same in each form of Advair, the strength of steroid varies de’100 ‘(poor) to 500 (highest).
